Newsletters

A busy IT function realised that, despite helping each and every single employee at key stages in their workday, and that they had the help-desk stats to back that up, no one knew what they did! No one knew how much they were saving in cost avoidance or the high performance of the team. No one new how efficient they were, or about the 99% customer satisfaction rates they were earning every year - all this good news needed to be shared and celebrated!

Working with the team, I created an annual newsletter, to be shared with all their major stakeholders. This newsletter included all their top performance stats, feedback from customers and showcased their year on year improvements. It also tracked their cost avoidance and savings work, something that had not been tracked previously.

When it came time for this team to make a bid for extra funding, all their key stakeholders were already informed and ready to support them.

Laptop policy changes

A big change to an internal laptop policy was coming - laptops were being renewed after four years, instead of the previous three years, but how were the employees going to feel about it?

My first step was the understand why the change. Once I could appreciate the decision from a financial, logistical and an environmental point of view, I was able to tailor the announcement to suit the audience, breaking the benefits down. Alongside this, I also created an internal page to give a high level view and clarity of the overall decision making process.

Finally, I created a dedicated channel for feedback, so that anyone with questions or concerns would feel heard, and any issues could be address quickly.

After the announcement was made, my client was delighted to receive overwhelming positive feedback. Following on, after six months, we shared this feedback, along with a view of how the changes had achieved their goals.

Self service launch

An internal team had created a self-service portal to help customers and reduce waiting times, to help deal with the growing demand on them. However it would only be a success if their customers knew about it, and found it as useful as dealing with the team directly.

By creating a communications plan that not only showcased the ease of use of the new tool, but also highlighted how much quicker some requests could be solved, the customers were delighted to use the new tool. By keeping the team’s established warm, friendly customer service vibe, the communication plan reflected the team and ensure trust for all the customers.

At writing, over 40% of requests are now being handled by the self-service tool, and it’s feedback has maintained at the team high performing standard too.

Team rituals

After a particularly difficult company restructure, a number of internal teams were struggling, and feeling isolated.

By reviewing the current team rituals, reviewing what was working and what could instead be joined up, I was able to streamline the internal team communications. This ensured better, clearer lines of communications, better visibility of the leadership, without overwhelming anyones calendar!

I also performed a full internal communications audit and was able to identify channels that were not being fully utilised. By making some important changes, teams were able to work more independently as information and updates were more readily available.

Leadership updates were more useful and efficient too, while ensuring team members still felt connected.

My values

  • Be true to yourself, your one unique voice. You have created something with your vision. I want to help you to grow and nurture this, while bringing your teams along on that journey too.

I have a ZERO AI policy, because if it’s worth reading, then we believe it is worth writing in the first place!

I also just really enjoy writing

  • I weight every word, every email, every campaign with its worth. I want to create work for you that is useful and helping you reach your goal. I am not going to “do content” for the sake of it, or to add line items to your bill.

Everything I create will be with you, your team and your goals in mind.

  • I love a chat! And want to find out what you do, why you do it, and why you love what you do.

Basically, I will come to you with a lot of questions because I am interested in you! Satisfy my curiosity and I will reward you with detailed, personalised and a totally YOU communications plan.

  • I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t enjoy it, and working with me you will find my enthusiasm totally infectious!

I enjoy my work, and I want you to enjoy working with me too. We all have to work, let’s enjoy ourselves while we do!
